Sewer network management
In the Brussels Region, VIVAQUA ensures the flow of waste water and rainwater to purification plants via the sewer network.
VIVAQUA gradually took over this municipal responsibility starting in the early 2000s. Since 2011, all Brussels municipalities have entrusted the intermunicipal association with managing their sewer network.
Our company maintains the sewer network (cleaning, unblocking, rodent control), creates new structures and connections, intervenes in the event of a road collapse, updates sewer mapping and proposes solutions for dealing with any shortfalls in the network.
Repair and extension works
The sewer connections and network are designed, maintained, resized and renovated within the framework of the annual budgets of the sanitation works programme.
Network monitoring
The updating of the hydrological mapping system and network status monitoring are essential to ensure the proper management of the sewers.
New activity: shell manufacturing
Our plant for the manufacture of the shells used to renovate sewers in Brussels has been operational since September 2020.
It is possible to warm ourselves using the sewers
VIVAQUA has developed a heat exchanger that, once installed in the sewer, recovers the heat present in waste water and then heats or cools buildings.
