What is riothermia?

It is a process of recovering heat from sewage waters.

VIVAQUA has developed a heat exchanger at low cost thanks to the choice of a cheap material.  This system, which is installed during sewer renovation, makes it possible to heat buildings in winter and to provide air-conditioning in summer.

Riothermia: first large-scale project in Uccle

The municipality of Uccle is relying on this technology for its future administrative centre located on rue de Stalle. The heat exchangers installed by VIVAQUA will provide up to 25% of the building’s cooling and heating needs, which will reduce its annual CO2 emissions by 40 to 60 tonnes.
