VIVAQUA reads meters once a year in order to measure your consumption and issue an accurate bill.

VIVAQUA is committed to ensuring the protection of its customers’ personal data.

Schedule for the next months

Our meter readers will be present in the following municipalities:

  • Uccle: from 02/04/2024 to 28/06/2024
  • Woluwe-Saint-Pierre: from 10/04/2024 to 28/06/2024

Do you live in one of those municipalities? If so, you might meet one of our meter readers.

VIVAQUA meter readers wear a uniform, always carry identification and have the number of the meter they have come to read.

If you live in Etterbeek or Molenbeek, you will receive a letter (between the beginning of April and the end of June 2024) asking you to read your meter yourself and send us your meter reading.

Were you out?

Send us your index

You can also do so by telephone: 0800/95 162

These services are only available during the meter reading period for your municipality.

Would you prefer to send us your index by post? In your absence, our meter reader put a card in your letter box. Complete the card and send it to us at this address:

VIVAQUA replaces your meter

To ensure the reliability of measurements, “domestic” meters are replaced every 16 years. A reliable meter is essential for drawing up an accurate bill.

Your meter is replaced totally free of charge and the work takes approximately 30 minutes.

Your old meter is then recycled in our specialised workshop.

Smart meters

In order to improve its distribution services, VIVAQUA closely follows the technological innovations in the water sector.

This is why VIVAQUA participates in the European SMART.MET project, launched in 2017 and funded as a part of the Horizon 2020 research program initiated by the European Commission. The objective of the SMART.MET project, led by a group of 7 European water companies (including VIVAQUA), is to promote the development of new technologies for the collection and management of drinking water networks data, via communicating water meters.

Your most frequently asked questions

  • As a result of plumbing work carried out on private pipes, it is possible that a third party has made a mistake and that your meter records not only your consumption but also that of your neighbour.

Some malicious people may also connect their water pipes to your meter in order to avoid paying for their own consumption.

A VIVAQUA employee has to come and check on site. To make an appointment, contact 02 518 88 10 or fill in our contact form.

  • Like any device, your meter can break down. A VIVAQUA employee has to come and check on site. To make an appointment, contact 02 518 88 10 or fill in our contact form.

  • You may have a leak in your private water system. How do you spot a leak?

    1. Write down your meter index in the evening (all black and red numbers)
    2. Do not use water during the night (no dishwasher, no toilet,…)
    3. Write down your meter index the next morning
    4. Compare both indexes: if the numbers are not exactly the same, there is a leak after the water meter. Call a plumber to locate and repair the leak.
  • A VIVAQUA employee has to come and check on site. To make an appointment, contact 02 518 88 10 or fill in our contact form.

  • Our meter readers wear a blue uniform with the VIVAQUA logo on the chest and back. They also have an identification badge with their name and the name of our company.

Do you still have doubts? Ask for the number of the water meter he comes to check and compare it with the number on your meter. If he doesn’t know the number of your meter or if the numbers do not match, he is probably an impostor posing as a VIVAQUA employee.

  • You can ask VIVAQUA to check your water meter. Your water meter will be replaced and sent to a laboratory for inspection. The technical inspection is carried out under the supervision of the division Métrologie of the SPF Économie, which will send VIVAQUA a verification certificate.

You can send your inspection request via our contact form

Please note that if the meter works properly, you will have to pay for the inspection.
