Adopted in December 2020, the new European Drinking Water Directive refers for the first time to a future standard for PFAS.

This European standard sets the maximum concentration of PFAS at 100 nanograms per liter.

Following the adoption of this new Directive, and without waiting for its transposition into Brussels regulations (still in progress), VIVAQUA immediately took action: it launched monitoring and analysis campaigns to verify the presence of PFAS in the water and took measures to optimize its drinking water production.

Water analyses in the Brussels-Capital Region’s networks, i.e. at the Brussels consumer’s tap, show results significantly below the future standard.

In addition, VIVAQUA publishes these analysis results on its website every month. If, for example, you want to know the results of the analysis of the water supplied to your home, you can check them here.
