VIVAQUA, a cooperative company, is an intermunicipal association that brings together 23 towns and cities, and one intermunicipal association.
The company was founded on 12 December 1891 and is governed by the order of 5 July 2018 on intermunicipal cooperation. The company’s main purpose is:
- the study, establishment, management, operation and potential development of services and facilities for the production, treatment, storage, transport and distribution of drinking water, in the broadest sense of these terms
- the supply of drinking water, the distribution of drinking water using pipes, sanitation and waste water collection
- the design, establishment, operation and management of infrastructures intended for the drainage and buffer storage of urban waste water including the recovery of such water
- flood control
